Cosmetology

About the Program

Cosmetology is a creative field that often attracts entrepreneurs who want to start their own business and work in close contact with people. At Minuteman Technical Institute, adult cosmetology students earn the 1,000 hours of instruction necessary to qualify to take the state licensing exam. The program offers a mix of classroom and hands-on work with customers from the public in The Salon @ Minuteman. Students must have controlled finger dexterity and the ability to do precise work. Good interpersonal skills are also very important. Students will receive their OSHA 10-hour certification (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and a CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification.
