10-Month Programs

MTI is offering the following 10-month, tuition-based programs for the 2023-24 year: Automotive Technology, Cosmetology, and Electricity.

10-Month Programs

Minuteman Technical Institute will hold programs for Automotive Technology, Cosmetology and Electricity from August 2023 to June 2024. Tuition payment plans are available; additional tuition support may be possible for students ages 18-24 or for anyone who is unemployed or under-employed. Automotive Technology

The Automotive Technology program is designed to prepare students for a challenging and rewarding career in the ever-changing automotive industry. Students will have time in the classroom and in Minuteman’s automotive shop where they can engage in hands-on repairs of motor vehicles. Students who complete the program can receive up to eight Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications, along with the Hot Work Certification and OSHA 10-Hour General Safety Certification. Automotive Technology is an approved Chapter 74 vocational-technical program by the Mass. Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

Cosmetology

Cosmetology is a creative field that often attracts entrepreneurs who want to start their own businesses. At Minuteman Technical Institute, students gain the 1,000 hours of instruction necessary to qualify for the state licensing exam. The program offers a mix of classroom and hands-on work as students perform hair and beauty services on customers from the public in The Salon @ Minuteman. Students who complete the program can receive the MTI Cosmetology Certificate, OSHA 10-Hour Cosmetology Safety Certification, and First Aid/CPR/AED certification. The Cosmetology program is an approved Chapter 74 vocational-technical program by DESE.

Electricity

  • Saturday, 7:00 AM-2:00 PM

Electricity is geared toward students who want to become licensed electricians. Students who successfully complete the program will be prepared for entry into the electrical skilled trades industry, including apprenticeship. Students will receive a combination of classroom and hands-on learning in Minuteman’s electrical shop, which includes numerous circuitry and electrical panels in a controlled environment. Students will use the course to obtain 700 hours of learning experience, with at least 300 hours in classroom theory and at least 400 hours of practical experience to be used toward a Journeyman’s Electrical License. Electricity is a DESE-approved Chapter 74 vocational-technical program.
