ABOUT THE PROGRAM

MTI’s Advanced Manufacturing program is the newest program at Minuteman with advanced computerized machinery, equipment and technology.  Students enrolled in the Advanced Manufacturing program will be trained on cutting edge technology and advanced computerized machinery to improve product manufacturing.  Students in this program will learn the layout process, the setup and procedures necessary to operate equipment such as CNC lathes, CNC milling and turning machines.  Students will also gain experience taking a product from conception to manufacturing using innovative CAD/CAM software.  Students will receive training and certifications from NIMS, National Institute for Metalworking Skills, Inc., as well as, an OSHA 10-hour certification (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and a CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification.

 

The  Advanced Manufacturing Program is a 900-hour, 10-Month program which begins in October. This program is taught four nights per week, five and a half hours per night, or twenty-two hours per week. Classes are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Students are also required to participate in on-line course work throughout the program.

CAREER PROSPECTS

The increased adoption of sophisticated manufacturing machinery will require more mechanics and millwrights to keep machines in good working order. Increased automation, including the use of many computer-controlled machines in factories and manufacturing plants, should raise the demand for machinery maintenance workers in order to keep the machines functioning properly.
